Turning a passion into a career is an understandably difficult task - it takes confidence, investment, time, and perseverance. But ultimately, if you choose a job you love, you will never have to work a day in your life (that’s not a Pretty Squared quote, but we fully stand by it!). CHIC STUDIOS in New York City does just that - a unique makeup artistry school, set in the middle of the Manhattan bustle, CHIC STUDIOS provides professional training to aspiring and established makeup artists.
My sister and I had the pleasure of attending the CHIC STUDIOS 5 Year Anniversary where we celebrated makeup education with like-minded individuals (and we all did it in style, sporting smokey eyes and ruby lips in the middle of the afternoon). CHIC STUDIOS welcomed students, bloggers, and instructors to experience the quintessential New York, modern studio space and pristine classrooms. We both had the opportunity to chat with the CHIC STUDIOS instructors, learn about offered courses, and simply revel in the experience (with a side of sparkling pink cake pops, of course).
The CHIC instructors also revealed three whimsical looks that made us wish pink cherry blossoms and geometric patterns were appropriate street attire (the models looked like works of art and the application techniques were exquisitely detailed).
Thank you to CHIC STUDIOS and all the generous sponsors for a wonderful event! To learn more about the CHIC STUDIOS courses, be sure to visit CHIC STUDIOS and reach out to any of the representatives - everyone’s fabulous and ready to help turn your love of makeup into a successful career!
Anyone can tell you that a “good hair day” is much more than that. Good hair translates to a great day where you feel confident and beautiful and are ready to conquer your to-do list (and anything in between). It’s those bad hair days - after staying too much in the sun, dabbling in some diy ombre, or over-using the straightener - that make me truly appreciate the glorious “good hair day.”
Over the years, I admit I’ve made my mistakes that resulted in damaged hair and hair breakage, and I am now ready to fix it all and get my healthy hair back with Neutrogena Triple Repair System. So, for all those with sun damaged hair, heat damaged hair, hair coloring damage, and all those other “damage” mistakes, listen up! Neutrogena has created a hair care system that targets damage and rebuilds hair, leaving hair more resilient to the effects of heat, color, and styling (and bad decisions, ahem).
Each one of these affordable products does it’s job well and creates healthy, beautiful, shiny hair at any length. The Neutrogena Triple Repair Fortifying Shampoo and the Neutrogena Triple Repair Fortifying Conditioner mend split ends after just one use and overall strengthen brittle hair - after using the Triple Repair products, my hair felt soft and moisturized without being tangled (which is a big issues with my hair).
I am quite picky about my leave-in treatments because my hair reacts in a not-so-happy way but the Triple Fortifying Leave-In Treatment passed the picky test as it left my hair smooth. Additionally, Triple Repair products agains heat styling so if you’re like me and go straightener-curler-crazy, you would ensure your hair is protected from heat damage. Quick note here, even with the Leave-In Treatment, I was so happy to see that my hair did not become greasy in the humid DC weather for over 24 hours (because, seriously, greasy hair is not a good look on anyone). Overall, Neutrogena combines these three Triple Repair items to instantly and continuously protect from breakage and repair hair damage.
Now that you’ve learned all about it, get yourself the Neutrogena Triple Repair and start having a “good hair day” everyday!
Stay Pretty, Miranda M.

Mascaras are like a box full of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get. As the most sold item in any beauty collection (it’s true, research it!), we sure love trying our mascaras. And not surprisingly, companies introduce millions and millions of mascara variations every few years (umm, don’t research that number but you get the idea). It seems there are always new mascara releases and each one offers something different and promises new results. With Revlon Bold Lacquer, the chocolate turned out to be delicious but with unique flavors (disclaimer not needed, but don’t eat the Revlon Bold Lacquer).
Part of the Grow Luscious line, the Revlon Bold Lacquer (c/o) is meant to create glossy volume and length. With a cylinder-shaped, large wand, the mascara delivers beautiful length - after only two coats, my lashes appeared soft, fluttery, and all around lovely. My lashes still looked natural but better. And to make things better, unlike other drugstore mascaras I’ve tried, this Revlon mascara did not smudge or create fallout at the end of the day.
Unfortunately, the Bold Lacquer does not really create much volume - combined with the wet formula and the shape of the wand, the final look is defined with separate lashes (as opposed to voluminous, spidery lashes). However, as I tend to gravitate toward less dramatic makeup that is work appropriate, the Bold Lacquer is a new product I quickly added to my routine.
The Revlon Bold Lacquer is a perfect pick for everyday makeup. Long lasting, beautifully pigmented, and naturally lengthening, this affordable Revlon mascara is a delicious pick.
Happy Fourth of July! I adore all holidays and celebrations as it’s a great reminder to take a break from our daily schedule, be thankful, and spend time with family. For the first time since last Christmas, both my sister and I are visiting home and celebrating July 4th with our parents. That means we’re having a Texas style brunch-bbq-dinner extravaganza where we cook delicious food, snack on sweet treats, and light some fireworks (all from the comfort of our backyard, under the Texas sun).
And because the whole day can’t be spent eating (although, let’s be truthful, it can!), my sister and I decided to do our nails in commemoration of July 4th. This July 4th nail art is simple, patriotic, and wonderfully suited for the day. Using red, white, and blue, I’ve create over-sized hearts accented with flowing stripes. Polishes we used are Color Club Bell Bottom Babe, Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and Sally Hansen Rapid Red. If you want to minimize time spent on doing nails (and more on relaxing), patriotic nail art can be as simple as combining various red, white, and blue shades.
We hope all of our lovely followers have a great day and hope you enjoy the 4th of July!
