Patriotic Nail Art - Fourth of July Nail Art
My friend Hope modeling the Mix and Match 4th of July glitter nail art; I loved the thumb design the most
This July 4th, I had my perfect chance to create a USA Independence Day manicure, full of stars and stripes, bold graphic designs, glitter and rich hues of red and blue. I have always adored stripes and stars manicures, as they are the perfect Americana touch for a retro inspired manicure. My friend Hope kindly agreed to be my (very patient) nail model for this look, and after about two hours of nail painting, we were both pleased with the final result! This nail art design is a continuation of the the Busy Girl Nails challenge (click here for the challenge rules and previous designs!), and as this week’s theme was “Glitter”, it was the perfect chance to incorporate glitter polishes for extra sparks and celebration.
I hope you sport some fun designs on your nails this Fourth of July, as nails are the best accessory during this hot summer weather. I will be watching the New York City fireworks (from my roof) and will enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and his family; my sister, Miranda, will be lucky enough to watch the beautiful DC fireworks (which one day I hope to see as well).
Polishes Used: Revlon Superstitious (blue swatch), Wet n Wild Wild Shine (red swatch), Wet n Wild Fast Dry Rocking Ruby (red glitter swatch), Kiss Nail Art White (white).
We wish you a fun filled Fourth of July and that you enjoy the day with your family and friends, wherever you are! Happy Independence Day!
These designs work just as well on short nails; I used a striper brush to draw in the stripes and stars
Glitter placement gives the manicure some dimension - I chose an Old English font as it fits the patriotic theme
